We hold in our prayers all who are affected and displaced by the wildfires across our region and Province at this time, and especially our nearest communities in the midst of the Bald Range wildfire, and our neighbouring parishes of St Margaret in Peachland, St Stephen in Summerland, and St Saviour in Penticton. We pray for all who are on the front lines and in danger.
PRAYER IN TIME OF FIRE
O God, our refuge and strength,
our help in times of trouble.
Guard all who are fighting the fires,
protect those who stand at the ready to evacuate houses,
comfort those who have been displaced, surround with your peace those who are anxious,
and strengthen all who work to protect people, animals, and what has been built.
Lead us together as a community in care and compassion in time of need.
Bring your peace in the midst of fear.
We ask this in the name of the One who is our Compassion and our Hope,
Jesus Christ, risen and ascended.
Amen.
Provincial Summit The Provincial Summit was held in Kelowna July 3 to 5. The Provincial House of Bishops met in Kelowna July 6. The summit was focused on exploring ways the diocese of the Ecclesiastical Province of BC and Yukon may be able to share resources, talents and strengths to support ministry across the province.
