Dear People of the Diocese of Kootenay,

As many of you know, on March 6, at a meeting of the Provincial Executive, I was elected Archbishop and Metropolitan of the Ecclesiastical Province of B.C. Yukon. This means I have some oversight responsibilities for the Province, the 6 dioceses, 5 in B.C. and the Diocese of Yukon, supporting the Provincial House of Bishops and the Provincial Synod. You will know this because both Archbishop John, and Archbishop David before him, likewise held this office.

One of the changes, of course, is that now as much as possible the Provincial meetings will be held electronically so I will travel less.

The Provincial House of Bishops, are all new within the last three years, but are a good team, and already have begun to build supportive relationships. I also have extra administrative support of a very competent administrative assistant in the Diocese of New Westminster.  Maureen Shaw, the Admin Assistant for Kootenay will not be taking on this extra work.  We also have in Kootenay Diocese a great team of Regional Deans who are a huge support to me, along with our new Dean David Tiessen who begins July 1. I remain living in Kelowna near the Diocesan office and will still have regular scheduled visits with all of you throughout Kootenay. Of course I am eagerly looking forward to the day when I can again visit in person; Maureen and I will schedule those visits as soon as possible.

I appreciate your prayers for me, and all of you remain in my prayers as we continue to serve Christ together in Kootenay.

Yours in Christ,
+Lynne
