Stagleap Provincial Park
Two Diocesan events happened in the South West Kootenays. Sunday, August 17 was the fourth annual eucharist service on the Kootenay Pass, with 7 congregations joining in: Christ Church Creston, Creston United Church, St. Paul’s Salmo, St. John’s Fruitvale, St. David’s Castlegar, St. Andrew’s Trail and St.Stephen’s New Denver. There were four adult confirmations: Tricia Bell and J Friesen from St. Andrews, Nicholas Bone from St. Stephens and Mel Davies from Christ Church. It was a joyful celebration, very windy and cool, but full of Spirit. The canopy over the altar almost blew away in the wind of the Spirit, so four people (pillars of the church) spent the service holding it down – a new server’s role. Please pray for those who were confirmed as they begin a new phase of their baptismal service to God.
